The following is a list of frequently asked questions. However, please bear in mind that these answers represent standard circumstances and are merely examples.
Q: How much money does one need to save in order to study at ECC?
A: Your expenses will consist of “tuition (based on length of study) + living expenses”.
This amount will come out of “the payer’s yearly salary - expenditures + amount of savings”.
For Example:
2 year school expenses = entrance fee + total tuition = 1,300,000yen
Living expenses = 80,000yen (per month) ×24months = 1,920,000yen
Payer’s yearly salary (1,500,000yen)- expenditures (750,000yen)= 750,000yen
In this case the amount of savings required is
1,300,000yen+1,920,000yen-750,000yen=2,470,000yen
Although most students cover a portion of their living expenses by working part-time, there is no guarantee that you will be able to find a job so you should calculate your expenses without including money you expect to earn from part-time work.
In addition, students who move on to a University or other institution after completing their studies at ECC need to take into consideration the tuition costs and living expenses for their further studies. Each student’s situation is different so we encourage you to contact us directly for more information.
Q: What kind of yearly salary does the payer need in order to cover the costs of studying at ECC?
A: The expenses are as described above. The payers savings, yearly salary, and expenditures determine the amount that will be required. Living expenses vary depending on the country. The amount of yearly salary required also varies depending on the country.
For example, if you are Chinese, a yearly salary of at least 100,000RMB (1,350,000yen) could be considered a rough guideline.
Again, every person’s situation is different so please contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns.
Q: What kind of educational background is required?
A: We are an institution of higher education, more specifically, a vocational school that is intended for high school graduates (other institutions of higher education include universities etc. ) so those who have attained at least a high school level education ( generally those who have completed 12 years of secondary education ) are our target students. However, if you are from a country in which a high school education consists of less than 12 years, or you have a valid and appropriate reason for not completing 12 years of secondary education, there is still a chance that you can enter our school so feel free to 学校にcontact us with your inquiries.
Q: Are there any age restrictions?
A: As a policy we usually accept students over the age of 18. However, there is an exception; if you are under the age of 18 and have completed your secondary education you can contact us about applying.
There is no maximum age, but if more than 5 years have passed since you graduated from your last school you will need to thoroughly explain your reasons for wanting to study abroad. Based on your educational background, activity after graduation, and motivation for studying abroad we will determine whether or not this course is appropriate for you.
There are many specific factors that play into our decision so we encourage you to contact us for more details.
