Long-Term Course

This is a regular course for more than a year. You can apply for a study visa.

This is a general course in which you can learn the 4 skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) in a balanced manner.

Japanese General Skills Course

In this course, students learn practical Japanese language skills (grammar, reading, listening, speaking) through authentic usage/application in real situations. Our teaching style goes beyond the conventional rote-learning style. From beginners to intermediate levels, students will develop basic Japanese language skills in the common curriculum, and from the advanced levels, students can take elective courses catering to their plans after graduation.

  • (1)Students can acquire authentic Japanese useful in a practical situations.
  • (2)Thorough acquiring of the 4 skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) through practical training.
  • (3)Advanced classes onwards, students can take elective courses catering to their plans after graduation.

Practice classes are offered to advanced students twice a week during the 4th and 5th period as elective subjects.

Curriculum

Term Contents Achieved level
TERM 1
Beginner Level(450h)
Students learn the basic elements of Japanese, basic grammar, Hiragana, Katakana and about 400 Kanji during the first 6 months. Able to take part in everyday conversation, can pass JLPT N4 Level
Term 2
Intermediate Level(450h)
This level is for students who have learned basic Japanese. Students learn various expressions and develop their reading, writing, listening and speaking ability. Able to manage problems in daily life, express feelings or ideas in Japanese, can pass JLPT N2 Level
Advanced 1 The class activities are conducted using the expressions acquired in beginner and intermediate classes. In addition, they learn applied expressions that can be used in various situations. Students can brush up on skills which are used in various areas of Japanese society; can pass the JLPT N1 level.
Advanced 2 Using various learning materials, such as videos, novels, newspapers, magazines and reading patterns, students can learn everyday Japanese that Japanese people use. At the same time, they can also learn about Japanese culture and the Japanese way of thinking. After gaining a deep understanding of Japan and Japanese people, students can acquire Japanese language ability that enables them to discuss independently and express their opinions freely.
Students in this level are able to obtain a high score for the JLPT N1.

●Elective Subjects (Some subjects have a fee.)

Students can take a variety of elective classes followed to your needs.

EJU Preparation Lessons
This class is for students who wish to enter university.
In order to earn higher scores in the Japanese subjects of the EJU exam, students aim to acquire academic skills in vocabulary, reading and listening.

JLPT Preparation Lessons (N1·N2)
You can choose according to the level you plan to take for the exam.
The JLPT is a requirement for students who want to enter vocational school and get a job in the future. The exam focuses on listening, reading and vocabulary.

Video and Extensive Reading
Using various learning materials, such as videos, novels, newspapers, magazines and reading patterns, students can learn everyday Japanese that Japanese people use. At the same time, they can also learn about Japanese culture and the Japanese way of thinking.

M.A. Program Preparation
Students can learn the knowledge and skills necessary to enter a masters program from “What is it like to do a masters in Japan?” to learning about how to apply for a masters, thinking about research theme, writing a plan and interview preparation for it.

■Students wishing to enter university can take elective classes with some additional costs.

Mathematics
It is applied to Course 1 and Course 2 in the EJU.

Sciences
It is possible to choose 2 of the science related subjects under physics, biology and chemistry.

Japan and the World
The target of this class is to prepare for the area on Japan and the World in the EJU. Depending on your Japanese language skills, you can take these classes.

English
Depending on their levels, we will prepare students for the university entrance exam and TOEFL®TEST respectively.
