Earth Festival
The “Earth Festival”, a school-wide festival, was held again this year! In 2020 and 2021, it was held online due to the corona pandemic, but, this year as usual there was a lot of food stalls and various events were held lively.
As in previous years, the Japanese language department had a team of international students called “Team Nihongo”. This year we have opened a shop where we cooked and sold our own food, and this year`s menu was “So-tteok so-tteok & quail eggs” and “Ginger Tea”.
“So-tteok so-tteok & quail eggs” is a combination of South Korean and Taiwanese food, So-tteok so-tteok consists of sausage and teok (rice cake) skewered and served with Gochujang (red chili paste) and the quail eggs is a Taiwanese snack Takoyaki-style grilled.
“Ginger Tea” is made by boiling fresh ginger and plenty of brown sugar in a large pot. A Taiwanese-style drink that warms your body from the inside to the outside, keeping you warm even in the cold days.
The Japanese language department`s refreshment stand was a great success, and while the shop was running, we had to go buy additional teok (rice cake) and ginger. The stand was so popular that of course, in the end all the products were sold out.
Thank you very much for your hard work, everyone who participated in the Earth Festival staff! It was hard, but it was fun!
