Ikebana classroom
Misei style ikebana teacher came to our school to instruct the participants of the Summer ikebana classroom.
Before the participants could try to make a flower arrangement themselves, the teacher told the students about various beautiful flowers used in the art of ikebana. Also the participants learnt about the Misei style ikebana close connection to Japanese traditional martial arts. The other thing students learnt from the ikebana art teacher was that ikebana itself is not just the art of arranging flowers to decorate some space, but, on the opposite, an art of expressing the microcosm as the notion of Tenchijin, which can be roughly translated as Sky, Earth, and People.
The participants listened well and did their best to produce a beautiful ikebana themselves. All the beautiful creations sparkled with the author`s individuality.
